Levi's is teaming up with Studio Ghibli to show some love to one of the Japanese animation studios' most beloved films, Princess Mononoke, following the cool footsteps of LOEWE, PORTER, and UNIQLO.
Their latest collaboration, the Levi's x Princess Mononoke collection, takes direct inspiration from the hand-painted backgrounds of director Hayao Miyazaki's stunning animated film, which is a signature touch of Studio Ghibli.
Princess Mononoke itself has been known as not just a regular movie, it carries an environmentalist message, with a clash between forest spirits and resource-consuming humans. This collaboration pays tribute to Miyazaki's awesome eco-centric storytelling, perfectly capturing the essence of his hand-drawn forests, rivers, and adorable animal characters. It's a celebration of nature and animation all in one.
Back in 1997, when Studio Ghibli released its epic historical fantasy film, Princess Mononoke, it took Japanese audiences by storm, breaking box office records and becoming an instant hit. Fast forward to today, and this Hayao Miyazaki-directed masterpiece is still cherished and revered for its groundbreaking animation.
