It seems like our prediction is right all along. Following the footsteps of her fellow members Hanni, Danielle, and Hyein, the oldest member from K-pop rookie group NewJeans, Minji, has been selected as Chanel's new brand ambassador covering fashion, beauty, and watches categories.
On a special day that is Valentine's, the grand reveal was executed with the release of Elle Korea March 2023 issue where Minji poses on the front cover, dolled up in Chanel's signature tweed sailor cap and fuzzy sweater, complete with Chanel bracelet, ring, and earrings.
NewJeans' meteoric rise has not gone unnoticed; a week ago, Hanni got her second brand deal with Armani Beauty. However, right from their debut, the group has been receiving massive attention (pun intended) from global audiences. Their recent singles, "OMG" and "Ditto", are climbing up the charts both in South Korea and internationally.
Previously, Chanel has worked with BLACKPINK's Jennie with her fans having a special nickname for her; the Human Chanel. In the near future, could Minji possibly take the spot?
All eyes are now on Haerin, the remaining member who is yet to be named as a luxury house ambassador. However, with her recent outings at the airport dressed in Dior from head-to-toe, it's expected that the partnership announcement will arrive anytime soon.
