Budi Pekerti delves around the topic of cancel culture as the story centers on Bu Prani, a teacher whose life changes abruptly after being viral for having a conflict with a stranger. Bu Prani begins to experience the snowball effect from cancel culture as the society starts to condemn everything that she and her family does. Budi Pekerti is available to watch on theatre starting November 2th.
Gadis Kretek
Releasing on the first week of November, precisely on November 2th, Gadis Kretek or Cigarette Girl is director Kamila Andini's newest series which is set in the 1960s against the backdrop of Indonesia's tobacco industry that's also intertwined with the country's history. Moreover, this romantic drama follows a family involved in the clove cigarette industry as the son searches for love to fulfill his father's dying wishes.
The Marvels
Good news for the Marvel fans out there, The Marvels is finally coming out this month! The supernova protectors Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau will team up to stabilize the universe (and of course, tackle evil forces) after discovering a wormhole that makes their powers become entangled with each other. Watch all about it in theatres starting on November 10th!
The Killer
From the mind of David Fincher, the director of Fight Club (1999), Seven (1995), and Gone Girl (2014), The Killer follows the titular assassin who gets embroiled in an international manhunt after a hit goes wrong. This neo-noir psychological crime thriller stars Michael Fassbender, Arliss Howard, Charles Parnell and Tilda Swinton. Intrigued? The Killer streams only on Netflix starting on November 10th.
Past Lives
Written and directed by Celine Song in her feature directorial debut, Past Lives is a romantic drama film that follows the relationship between two childhood friends over the course of 24 years, as they contemplate their relationship when they grow apart to have experienced different lives. If you're a sucker for a romance melodrama, this is for you! Past Lives is available to watch in theatres starting November 15th.
The Crown Season 6 Part 1
One of Netflix's most loved flagship biopic series is back. The first half of the final season of The Crown is coming on November 16th. The Crown Season 6 Part 1 consists of four episodes mainly about Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, whereas its second part—which drops December 14th—will focus on Prince William, Queen Elizabet's Golden Jubilee, Charles, and Camilla. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
You are all invited to return to the deadliest game in 2023! The Hunger Games will be back with another story residing on Coriolanus Snow, the cold-blooded President and the main villain from The Hunger Games trilogy! Long before the rebellion from Katniss Everdeen, young Coriolanus Snow was chosen to mentor a tribute from District 12, Lucy Gray Baird. This also marks the first time that the game would have mentors assigned to the tributes. Though it serves as a spin off, this movie is surely something The Hunger Games fans shouldn't miss! The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is slated to be released on November 17th 2023.
Wish
Apart from Marvel, Disney will also release a new musical fantasy film, Wish. Wish tells the story of a 17 year old girl Asha who makes a passionate plea to the stars in a moment of need when she senses a darkness in the Kingdom of Rosas that no one else does. Little that she knows, an actual star from the sky named Star answers Asha's wish. Soon after, Asha and Star must overcome the evils rising in Rosas and fight for a better future for their people.
