Movies or TV shows have their main characters that we root for and love to achieve their triumph at the end of the story. There are also characters that we all used to hate for stepping in the main characters' way for reaching the happy ending we wanted to see. However, if we think and reconsider these characters, they don't seem that bad at all. Seeing them in hindsight, they're just a bunch of people who are misunderstood by us who put too much of our focus on the main characters. So here we go, some of the characters on your favorite movies and TV shows that weren't so bad at all.
Sharpay Evans from High School Musical
Sharpay is not a villain in the whole trilogy of High School Musical like we used to think. Instead, she was one of the best characters in the whole story for being a true artist. We always missed the point of her putting a lot of effort and thoughts into her audition and performances, with notes that she had been doing that for more years than Troy and Gabriella did. Now all can understand how Sharpay and her brother Ryan felt when the spotlight was taken away suddenly by two people who had no experience in performing (compared to her and Ryan) and only brought clout? Sharpay deserved better.

We all used to think that Squidward was such a grumpy neighbor who didn't know how to have fun, what's wrong with a little bit of fun? However, now we all can understand how it feels like to be Squidward for having to cope with such nosy and annoying neighbors when all you want is just peace and rest. Little did we realize along the journey of growing up, we can relate to Squidward more than we can relate to the other characters. After having to work five times a week, we just want people to respect our time!

Recalling the Dracotok that once made a big hit on TikTok, people were and are still falling into this white-haired boy from the Harry Potter series. Putting aside the fact that he's quite a catch for a high school student throughout the series, people are still wishing him to get the redemption he deserved. Draco Malfoy was one of the most misunderstood characters for he was full of pressure from his racist father-Lucius Malfoy, one of the loyal servants of The Dark Lord. He was young and he was alone his whole life back at home that he had no one to rely on and made a lot of bad decisions. Nevertheless, if we can see the world from his perspective, we can understand him.

The only thing that made us all used to hate Susan was the fact that Ross couldn't be together with Carol anymore and he was overly jealous of Susan for it. However, Susan was such a good wife for Carol and fully responsible for Ben. Well, we should admit that Ross' jealousy was undeniable but we should reconsider all the insulting he threw at Susan for his feelings! Susan was not a bad character at all, but it's the fact that we only got to see Ross' perspective.
There are countless characters in fictional stories that often got mistaken for being the evil characters in the story but when we take another look again, they're just misunderstood for not having their perspective shown throughout the story. Overall, we know that if it's not our story, we're always going to be villains in theirs.
